Induction - Work, Health and Safety


<h2 id="course-outline">Course Outline</h2> <p>The purpose of this Work Health and Safety course is to inform you, as a new APS employee or contractor, of important work health and safety matters. What we will discuss is a component of the broader APSC Corporate Induction Program and is designed to foster a positive culture of collaboration, diversity and respect which aligns with the APS Code of Conduct and Values.</p> <h2 id="objectives">Objectives</h2> <p>At the end of this course you should be able to: • Identify the legal framework for health and safety • Describe important duties under the Work Health and Safety Act 2011 (Cth) • Identify key workplace safety appointments • Understand how to respond to an incident • Identify key sources of workplace risk • Know how to access further WHS resources.</p> <hr /> <h5 id="this-program-aligns-with-the-working-in-government-craft-and-is-foundation-level">This program aligns with the Working in Government Craft and is Foundation Level.</h5> <p>Working in Government is a willingness to serve and the ability to apply a deep understanding of the context in which the APS operates.
